This explorer displays public data from the Doichain blockchain. It has no user accounts, asks for no sign-in, and embeds nothing from third parties: fonts, code libraries and icons are all served from our own server. We use no analytics or advertising services, no tracking pixels and no social media plugins. We set a cookie only if you explicitly switch the language.
Whatever data does arise is described in full in the sections below — including what our delivery network sees and what ends up in the server logs.
This website is delivered through Cloudflare's content delivery network (Cloudflare Germany GmbH, Rosental 7, 80331 Munich, Germany; parent company Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). Cloudflare sits in front of our server: the encryption of your connection terminates there. In doing so, Cloudflare processes your IP address, the address you requested and details about your browser in order to deliver the page and to fend off attacks.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in an available service protected against overload and attack (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). A data processing agreement is in place with Cloudflare; transfers to the USA are covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, and Cloudflare, Inc. is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Details are in Cloudflare's privacy policy.
For every request, our server writes one line to a log file: the time, the address requested, the HTTP status, the number of bytes transferred, the referring page and the browser identification.
If you open this site at its usual address, your request travels through Cloudflare. The IP address recorded in the log line is then not yours but that of the Cloudflare machine which passed the request on; we run nothing that restores your original address.
We cannot rule it out entirely, though: our server is also reachable directly at its own IP address. Anyone who approaches it that way — which is not what happens when you open this site normally — appears in the same log file, under the same retention.
The purpose is running the website and diagnosing faults (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The logs are rotated daily and deleted after 14 days.
Through the NEL header, Cloudflare asks your browser to report failed connections to a.nel.cloudflare.com; successful requests are explicitly not reported (success_fraction: 0). Such a report contains the address affected, the kind of error and your IP address. We neither retrieve nor evaluate these reports; they arise from the Cloudflare configuration. Most browsers allow the feature to be switched off.
If you switch the language, we store that decision in a cookie named lang (lifetime one year, SameSite=Lax). It holds nothing but the language code, for example en. As long as you do not switch, no cookie is set; which language you see first is then decided solely by the language preference your browser sends, which we do not store.
The cookie is necessary for the presentation you asked for and therefore requires no consent (Sect. 25(2) no. 2 German TDDDG); the processing rests on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can delete it in your browser at any time.
If you dismiss the news notice or the tip next to the search field, your browser remembers that under news-dismissed:… and hint-dismissed:… in localStorage, so the notice does not return on every visit. These values never leave your device and never reach our server. You can delete them through your browser's site data.
All fonts, code libraries and icons are hosted on our own server. When you open these pages your browser therefore opens no connection to Google Fonts, to an external CDN or to an analytics service. We measured this: on the home, block, transaction and name pages, not a single request went to an external domain.
What you type into the search field is sent as a POST request. The search term therefore appears neither in the address bar nor in our logs. The result page you are then taken to does, however, carry the value found in its address — for example /address/…, /tx/… or /name/…. That address appears in the log line described above and is deleted there after 14 days; it is associated with whichever IP address reaches us — for a visit through the usual address, Cloudflare's.
Blockchain addresses and names can, in individual cases, allow conclusions about people. If you wish to avoid even that, you can reach the explorer through a service that hides where you come from, or run your own instance — the source code is open.
Blocks, transactions, addresses and names come from the public Doichain blockchain. We merely display them; they are created by the participants of the network. We can neither change nor delete entries in the blockchain, because it is held by the network's nodes worldwide. A request for erasure directed at us can therefore only concern our own presentation, not the blockchain itself.
If you write to us, we process your details in order to answer your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them once they are no longer needed for that purpose and no statutory retention duties apply.
Links to GitHub, to the Names-On-Chain workshop and to le-space.de are plain references — nothing from those sites is embedded in our pages. From the moment you click, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for instance the one where you live.
On an ordinary visit through Cloudflare no IP address of yours reaches us, and we keep no user accounts; as a rule we therefore cannot identify individual visitors. In response to a request for access we can then only tell you that we hold no data about you (Art. 11 GDPR).
